Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is urging residents to attend organised public bonfire and firework displays for a safer Bonfire Night. Emma Roberts, HWFRS' head of prevention, advises the public to avoid setting off fireworks at home and instead enjoy pre-arranged events with family and friends.
Emma Roberts said, “Organised public displays are by far the safest way to enjoy Bonfire Night and so we are encouraging people to head along to one of these events with their families and friends rather than lighting fireworks themselves at home.” She also confirmed that a list of approved events across Herefordshire and Worcestershire will be available on the HWFRS website.
For those planning to host a public bonfire or firework event, HWFRS offers a platform to share details. The list on their website will be updated regularly until Bonfire Night on Sunday 5 November. Event organisers can add their event details by calling HWFRS at 0800 032 1155 or by emailing [email protected]. Additional safety advice for bonfires and fireworks is also available on the HWFRS website.
