HEREFORDSHIRE residents have the chance to help local charities receive a share of over £1 million in funding through the Movement for Good Awards, an initiative launched by Benefact Group.
The awards, now in their seventh year, invite individuals to nominate their favourite local charities for a £1,000 donation. Winners will be drawn at random, with the opportunity for sector-specific causes to win larger grants of up to £5,000.
Since its inception in 2019, the Movement for Good Awards has donated over £6 million to charities across the UK and Ireland, providing vital financial support to a wide range of causes.
Last year, more than 2,900 people from Herefordshire nominated local causes, with Marches Family Network in Hereford receiving a grant thanks to the community’s support.
Benefact Group, which operates as a family of financial services companies, has a strong track record in charitable giving. With over £230 million donated to good causes since 2014, the company is one of the UK’s largest corporate donors.
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive, expressed pride in the initiative: “Through the Movement for Good Awards, we are able to directly support charities doing vital work in our communities. £1,000 can have a significant impact, and we’re thrilled to continue making these donations possible.”
Nominations for the Movement for Good Awards are now open, and Herefordshire residents are encouraged to nominate local charities they feel deserve support.
The more nominations a charity receives, the greater its chance of being selected, so individuals are urged to share the opportunity with their networks.
The awards will run throughout the year, with winners announced regularly. If you know a charity in Herefordshire that could benefit from a £1,000 donation, this is a great opportunity to help them secure vital funding.
