Last week's announcement that Ross Post Office is to close for two weeks, and that customers should visit Tudorville or Ruardean Post Office during this time, shocked the Officer in Charge at Tudorville Post Office, David Thomas. David runs the Post Office with his father, Julian, who is the Post Master.

He said it is all very well telling people to use the next nearest Post Office but Tudorville offers far fewer services than Ross.

He said:?"We can do nothing with the DVLA, including car tax, passports, cashing cheques or business banking. There is also a strict limit of £300 on cash withdrawals per day."

Mr Thomas said: "Customers will need to go to Hereford or Gloucester for the services we cannot provide, or if they need to withdraw more than £300."
