TEENAGERS who allegedly threw rocks from the Brampton Road Footway, which overlooks the A40, are being sought by police in Ross-on-Wye.

The teenagers were using the footway, which crosses above the A40, at around 4pm on Thursday, February 20 when they resorted to throwing rocks down on to the carriageway below.

This not only put their lives in danger, but those below travelling in their vehicles along the A40 when the cars suffered windscreen damage following the impact with the rocks.

Two teenagers described as white, one wearing a beige jacket/hooded top, with a dog are said to have caused damage to two vehicles that were hit by the rocks which damaged the windscreens.

There is a possibility that other vehicles were also targeted, but did not report the incident.

PC Daryl Kit of the Safer Neighbourhood Team in Ross, said: “This is a very stupid and dangerous act, where I would like to bring the offenders to justice. Please contact me at [email protected] with any information.”

The police are also asking parents: “Do you know where your child was at 4pm hours Thursday, February 20?

The police are also appealing for dash cam footage from drivers who might have recorded the incident and said: “Were you in the area of Brampton Road Footway or the A40 at the time of the incident? Did you witness anything? Were you driving past while recording on any dash cam equipment?”
