?Councillor Jane Roberts, the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye said that fundraising for her charity will begin in earnest now that the Ross-on-Wye Community Development Trust has been officially registered. It is charity no. 1185655. At the Ross Town Council meeting on Monday, October 14th she said that the first task is to launch a Good Neighbour Scheme for Ross.

Each Mayor chooses a charity or project to support during his or her term of office. Councillor Roberts has chosen to support the Ross Community Development Trust which aims to reduce loneliness by encouraging everyone to be a good neighbour.

The project got off to a good start at a special Ross Great Get Together Good Neighbour Picnic which took place in June at the Bandstand. Cllr Roberts said that the event was an opportunity to bring people together, meet new friends and ’find out about how the new Ross Good Neighbours scheme can help to make our wonderful community even stronger’.
