IN December of 2015, and January of this year, the Friends of Ross Community Hospital looked after Ed O’Driscoll’s father in the final few weeks of his life and were, as Ed puts, “simply wonderful”.
Ed has lived in Ross-on-Wye since 2002 and has worked as a professional singer for more than 20 years, becoming a member of the Forfeits when they formed in 2015.
On Saturday, April 23rd, Ed will be performing along with other members of the Forfeits at the Gig Club, as a supporting act to Shep Woolley, a seasoned performer who was the runner up on New Faces in the 1970s.
All proceeds from the event will be going to the Friends of Ross Community Hospital. The money will support the Friends to provide valuable equipment that the hospital would not otherwise be able to afford. Recently, they provided lockers and excellent stateof the art beds for all patients.
Ed told the Ross Gazette that the hospital gave his father: “Proper care from a team of compassionate and caring staff."
In regards to donating the proceeds of the event, Ed explained: “It’s a very small gesture but I wanted to do something to say thank you. I hope as many of you as possible will come along and support what I’m sure will be a fun evening of great music with lots of laughs. Let’s raise as much money as we can for our truly special little hospital. We’ll be putting on a bar as usual…should be a good night.”
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01989 566644.
