THOUSANDS of people stepped back in time to watch mediaeval warriors demonstrate their skills along with displays of fire eating and archery.
The historic ruins of the atmospheric Goodrich Castle became the backdrop for these demonstrations for the English Heritage two-day event.
The Warwick Warriors showed off their skills with swords, bows and arrows to show what it was really like to fight as a mediaeval knight of the 15th Century.
Meanwhile Rob Sim began his routine as a castle jester before enthralling the crowds with his fire eating, fire breathing, and fire juggling skills.
As part of last weekend’s event of time-travelling fun, there was also a demonstration of archery while visitors had a go at soft play jousting.
Castle jester Rob explained to the large crowd sitting and standing on the courtyard and viewing from the battlements that he had been fire breathing for 40 years and it was his 20th year with English Heritage.
He said: “Goodrich Castle, which dates back to the 11th Century, is one of my favourite venues. The courtyard is the perfect size for visitors to have an individual experience and it enables me to interact with the crowd.”
