THE New Inn at St Owen’s Cross has been voted Midlands Gastro Pub of the Year 2024.

The announcement was made at the annual Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards held earlier this week in Birmingham.

Thomas Leak, head chef, said: “We are all delighted to have won.  This award is extra special to the team because following the original nomination, and then the shortlisting for this award, it was the public who voted us the final winner.  Huge thanks to everyone.  Their votes really did count.”

To be in with a chance of being shortlisted by the judging panel, the nominated gastro venues, which stretched as far north as Nottingham, had to demonstrate glowing public reviews and feedback from over the past 12 months; be an advocate and champion of the local food, drink, and hospitality scene; and offer fantastic menus showcasing high-quality food and drink.

Once on the shortlist, it was then down to the public to cast their all-important votes.

The New Inn at St Owen’s Cross is certainly a friendly and very warm welcome as soon as you step through the door.  It’s a great place to meet with friends and family to share fabulous food and drink together.

This winning gastro pub provides an informal drinking and dining experience and prides itself on using delicious, locally sourced ingredients when possible.

With a modestly priced garden bites menu offering a range of small plates served outside or in the bar area while an extended bar menu, and an a la carte menu, featuring a choice of popular British classics, has something for everyone.
