Two hospital units have received £1,000 each from the North Gloucestershire Branch of the Oddfellows friendly society.
The donations were made to Gloucester Royal Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and Hereford County Hospital’s Macmillan Renton Unit.
The two hospital charities were chosen by Ross resident, Louise Walker, during her time as district chairman of the local society.
“It’s customary to make a donation to charities of your choice during your time as district chairman. I was delighted to be able to give back to two hospital units that have meant so much to me and the welfare of my family,” explained Louise.
“My son was supported in the first few weeks of his life by the neonatal unit and my husband has more recently been cared for by the excellent nursing team at the Macmillan Renton Unit.
“I hope this donation will enable the Units to support so many others in the kind and caring way that they do.”
Emily Williams, community fundraising manager for the Cheltenham and Gloucester hospitals charity said: “We are extremely grateful for the continued support of the Oddfellows, who by donating to our special care baby fund will help to create a better experience for local families and NHS Staff.”
