THE highlight of the Slimming World calendar is for group members to vote for their most 'slimspirational' female.
The ‘Woman of the Year’ competition honours a member who has transformed themselves before the group’s very own eyes, who is filled with enthusiasm for Slimming World, who's bursting with confidence and inspires others every step of the way.
Last week Lesley Fitze-Horswell from Howle Hill, who attends the Tuesday morning group at the Larruperz Centre in Ross-on-Wye, lost an incredible six stone and eight pounds since she joined Slimming World – and now the group have crowned her our Woman of the Year 2024.
Debra Maloney, who runs the Slimming World groups in Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth says: "I’m so proud of Lesley. She initially joined Slimming World having been told by her medical Specialist that she needed to lose at least six stone before she could be considered for a new knee operation.
“She’s a true inspiration, after largely swapping fats and oils in her diet for lighter options, she’s created new healthy habits that will help her maintain her weight loss for good. She also has a new knee.”
Lesley said: "I am lighter and more mobile than I have been in years. My husband and son have both supported me and love Slimming World food too."
