THREE main roads locally are to be resurfaced in the coming weeks, it has been revealed.

Herefordshire Council’s £2.38-million contract for the work with Tarmac Trading sidesteps the county’s main public realm maintenance contract with Balfour Beatty.

The stretch of A-road is the A438 between the Hereford Road roundabout in Ledbury, and Bush Pitch, between April 4 and 14.

The B-road works are the B4221 by the M50 bridge between Gorsley and Upton Bishop, between March 17 and 20; the B4216 south of the A417 Ledbury bypass, between March 4 and April 4 and the B4224 southeast of Fownhope, between April 14 and May 2.

The work is part of a £10-million package of road resurfacing during the current and next financial years approved by the council last April.
