An activity the Ross Lions carry out throughout the year is collecting used spectacles and sending them on to a central collection point where they are cleaned and graded before being despatched to Africa.

For the second time this year Lion Bernard Fowkes has packed and sent off over 2000 pairs of used spectacles donated by caring people in the Ross area. What this means, with all the other spectacles collected, is that poor sighted people, young and old, who could not afford spectacles, will soon be able to see.
