Held at St Mary’s Church it enabled local people affected by cancer to have the opportunity to find out more about the support network available in Herefordshire.

Organised by the Ross Cancer Support Group, with the aid of St Mary’s Church, Macmillan, Probus 93, and with donations from Asda Hereford and Morrisons, the event was supported by 15 different organisations who were able to provide first-hand information and advice to those attending.

Paul Baker, chair of the Ross Cancer Support Group, said: “We were so pleased to bring together many of the groups providing help and support for those whose lives have been touched by cancer. The day was a great success and provided an opportunity to discover what support there is from health experts and voluntary support groups across the county.”

For those unable to attend and would like information, the Ross Cancer Support Group meet every third Tuesday of the month at the sports hall conference room, John Kyrle High School. Just drop-in anytime between 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

There is usually a guest speaker most meetings; contact 07501211779 email [email protected] for more information.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday October 19 and the guest speaker will be Gaynor from Maggies in Cheltenham, a national charity which provides advice and support to cancer patients and their family and friends.
