The Compleat Food Group has issued an urgent recall for a range of chilled pastry products sold at major supermarkets, including Asda, Sainsbury's, and Aldi, due to the potential presence of small pieces of metal and plastic, rendering them unsafe for consumption.
The affected products span a variety of popular items, including:
- Asda's Chicken Tikka Slices, Steak Slices, and various sizes of Snack Pork Sausage Rolls, with use-by dates ranging from 03 to 05 September 2023.
- Sainsbury's Cheese and Bacon Snack Rolls, Cheese and Onion Rolls, and Mini Sausage Rolls, with use-by dates from 31 August to 01 September 2023.
- Aldi's Crestwood Cheese and Onion Rolls with a use-by date of 01 September 2023.
The Compleat Food Group has taken immediate action, issuing point of sale notices to customers, detailing the reasons for the recall and advising on the necessary steps if they have purchased any of the affected items.
Customers who have bought any of the listed products are strongly advised not to consume them. Instead, they should return the items to the store of purchase for a full refund.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has highlighted the importance of product recalls and withdrawals, ensuring that problematic food products are either taken off the shelves or returned by customers. The FSA continues to work diligently to keep consumers informed about potential issues associated with food products.
