More people in Ross-on-Wye with dementia and memory issues are being supported thanks to the growing support groups and money raised.

The Ross Memory Cafe, which opened in August last year, continues to support Ross residents on the first Tuesday of each month between 11:30am and 1:30pm at the Larruperz Centre.

Alongside this, the Ross Meeting Centre are at the Tudorville and District Community Centre every Thursday.

Anne Morris and her team were busy last year knitting covers for creme eggs and chocolate oranges   to raise funds for these groups. They managed to raise more than £2200.

The groups have received help from Spar, who have donated £50 which bought 84 creme eggs needing covers.

Volunteer Elaine Leney said: “Thank you Spar, so much!”

They added: “Dementia Action Week will soon be upon us. We have plans underway for that week, May 13- 19, including a range of events to raise awareness for dementia.
