When Jade Todd was looking for a new base for her business she remembered the caravan site at Symonds Yat, where she had spent many happy times as a visitor. Previously known as the Riverside Restaurant, Jade has turned part of it into a smart new cafe called Molly’s, after her Mum.
Lots of their regular customers are workers who used to call in at Jo’s Diner on the A40 as they drove past. Jade told the Ross Gazette that she is very grateful to her loyal customers who have made the slight detour to her new cafe and so she is determined to stay open the whole year, rather than shutting down at the end of the season as many local businesses do.
Molly’s is easy to find, just follow the brown direction signs to the campsite and it is just past the Wye Valley Visitor Centre.
Jade told the Gazette she has never charged tourist prices but offers value for money, she is even planning a loyalty card for regular customers.
She said they will have to offer a more restricted menu through the winter but if you are planning a meeting, or a group visit let Jade know in advance and she can discuss your requirements with you. She is happy to stay open later in the afternoon to accommodate groups as well.
Molly’s opens at 8am every day, is dog friendly and is ideal for families but it caters for everyone.
The most popular item is the All Day Breakfast which can include as much as you wish from a selection on the menu and starts at £5.50. With sandwiches priced from £2.50, children’s meals at £3.50 and snacks on toast from £2.50 Molly’s could be the ideal place for a get-together before a family shopping trip further afield or a walk to take in the autumn colours.
