Friends of Longhope Church (FoLC) teamed up with Longhope Running Club and did a “Hamper Scamper” run around the village, Monday December 5.

Residents of Longhope registered for a house collection of food bank donations. Fifteen Longhope runners, all dressed up in festive clothing and bright lights ran frantically around the village collecting goods.

Organisers Tina and Tracy told the Gazette: “What an amazing generous result we got. All donations will be given to the local food bank The Lords Larder.

“After the run, the FoLC laid on delicious hot dogs, mince pies, a mug of mulled wine. Truly a fun night had by all, making a huge difference to many lives along the way.”

Amongst those involved were Tracy Keeble who headed up the Longhope Runners, Tina Coull chair of FoLC, and Roger Beard from The Lord’s Larder. The Larder has been a focal point of support in the area during the cost-of-living crisis.
