MEMBERS of the Light Infantry & Rifles Association of Ross-on-Wye enjoyed an afternoon clay pigeon shooting recently. The group was formed to encourage former comrades, who were members of Ross ‘D’ company, the 5th Battalion of the Light Infantry, to socialise.
The group had their first reunion since the early 1990s in December last year.
Colonel Bob Purvis, the former President of the Ross-on-Wye Branch of the Royal British Legion, with former Company Commanders, Major Robert Barnes and Major Ladi Broadman, and two Senior NCOs, Bob Morris and Mick Ebert set up the Association and their Christmas meal was a great success.
