RIVER levels are rising at the Ross-On-Wye river gauge, as a result of recent heavy rainfall.

The Government agency Floodline reports that flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected today in and around Hereford and Ross on Wye including the Wilton area.

Additional rainfall is forecast this afternoon. It is expected river levels to remain high over the next few days.

The agency is closely monitoring the situation with  incident response staff checking defences and liaising with emergency services and Herefordshire Council.
