Cats Protection is inviting thrill seekers to take part in a 100ft sponsored abseil on Sunday, September 25th to raise money for feline friends in need.

The cat charity’s Hereford Adoption Centre is asking people to abseil down a 100ft coastal cliff face at Uphill Quarry in Weston-Super-Mare and to raise vital funds to help the 66 cats and kittens currently in care and seeking new homes.

Registration is for the event is easy. Participants will be asked to pay a £35 registration fee and should pledge to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship to help cats and kittens in your local area. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.

“Taking part in the abseil is sure to make for a very memorable day,” said Faye Jenkins, Manager at Hereford Adoption Centre. “I have decided to face my fear of heights head on and take part in the event. Anyone who knows me will be aware that I get vertigo putting on high heels, never mind abseiling 100ft down a cliff face, so this is going to be real challenge for me. It would be great to have a few other abseilers take part in the event for Hereford Adoption Centre, not only so we can raise more money for the cats at our centre, but for some morale support to cheer me on.”

All feline friends signing up to take part in the event will be provided with a fundraising pack, including sponsor forms, a branded bib and fundraising hints and tips.
