The family of 25-year-old Katie Smith, from Presteigne, who died as a result of a collision that occurred on the B4224 in Hampton Bishop on Wednesday, May 23rd have spoken about how much they will miss her.

They said: "Katie was the centre of our world, always aspiring to do more with her crazy and impulsive ideas.

"She has two beautiful children and partner that adore her so much and we can’t even contemplate how to continue living our lives without her.

"She would make the room light up and would do almost anything for anybody, she loved day trips out with family no matter where it was.

"She has her own Boutique shop in Kington that she always wanted to make bigger and better. Her smile, her smell and her voice will be missed so much it’s unreal."

Katie, who was riding a black Honda motorcycle, died as a result of a collision that occurred at 4.25pm on Wednesday, May 23rd in the village of Hampton Bishop, between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision that is believed to have occurred as the black Honda CG 125 motorcycle was travelling on the B4224 through the village of Hampton Bishop, out of the city, and was in collision with a Honda 4x4 travelling in the opposite direction towards the city.

Katie was in the company of two other motorcycles after completing a Compulsory Basic Training test when the collision occurred.

Friends of Katie have set up a fundraising page to help her family meet the costs of her funeral. They said that Katie was a 25-year-old mother of two young children. “A beautiful partner, daughter and sister, who has been taken from our family far too soon in a tragic motorcycle accident on the 23rd May 2018.

“Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated to help towards funeral costs, along with the upbringing of Katie’s children.

They are hoping to raise £2,000 to help towards funeral costs and provide support to Katie’s partner and their two beautiful children. More than £1,500 has already been donated. Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision.
