A fundraising campaign, set up by the Ross branch of the Royal British Legion to purchase a memorial bench to honour the local men who served, and died, in the Falklands War, has been reached.

The campaign was supported by the Ross Gazette, and many local businesses and individuals, as well as SAMA Wales and the Brecon Royal British Legion. The Falklands Bench has now been ordered.

Preparations for the bench to be installed at The Prospect next year are already well in hand and there will be a Blessing Service for the Bench on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. There will also be a Remembrance Stone and Plaque installed which will be situated on The Prospect near to the War Memorial, and this will be Dedicated on Thursday, November 8th, 2018.

Ross RBL is continuing to collect funds as they would like to help every town have a memorial to the 255 British servicemen who died and to serve as a reminder that many of those who came back from this conflict are still suffering today.
