ROSS Civic Society will host Dr Ian Hague from ‘Save the Wye’ at its next meeting on Monday, February 12, where he will discuss the ongoing challenges facing the River Wye and the urgent need for restoration efforts.
Dr Hague, a chemist with a PhD in corrosion and over 45 years of experience in the water industry, will outline the root causes of pollution affecting the river.
As a Citizen Scientist with the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), he has extensive knowledge of the impact of phosphates from intensive poultry farming in the Wye catchment area.
Ross Civic Society holds monthly talks on local history and current issues, as well as summer visits to sites of interest.
