Walford Primary School received an Ofsted inspection at the end of June. The inspector met with the senior leadership team, governors, staff, parents and pupils.

Throughout the visit, the inspector observed lessons, talked to pupils about their learning, looked at pupils’ books, scrutinised safeguarding procedures, recruitment and vetting checks, the website and the school’s self-evaluation documentation. In addition, staff and pupil responses to the online inspection questionnaire were reviewed, together with parent responses to Ofsted’s Parent View.

In a letter to parents, the Headteacher, Louise George, said “I am delighted to report that, once again, the Ofsted inspector was extremely positive about the work of the school.

“On behalf of staff and governors, I would like to extend sincere and personal thanks to pupils, staff, everybody who completed the online Parent View and for those parents and carers who took the time to speak to the inspector directly – your incredible support has been overwhelming and is appreciated greatly.”

The inspection endorsed the findings of Walford’s 2013 inspection. The school therefore remains Good overall with Outstanding Leadership and Management.
