On a bright and sunny morning the River Wye Learning Centre at Whitchurch Primary School was opened. The centre has created a brand new, state of the art classroom for children at the school.
The centre also houses a purpose built training space for the River Wye Teaching Alliance, the only teaching school in the area. The alliance will train teachers of the future and is working to support schools in the area and beyond. With specialist teachers in early years, maths and English the alliance is well placed to work in collaboration with others.
The school, graded outstanding by Ofsted, has joined with Weston under Penyard Primary School as a federation, and now offers provision for babies as well as nursery aged children.
One pupil, who was showing invited guests around the new classroom and school told the Ross Gazette:?“We are very proud of our school and our federation. We love having fun and learning and that’s what we get to do everyday in our new building.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
