Whitchurch CE Primary School, near Ross-on-wye opened its doors for a ‘Maths and Munchies’ morning for parents. More than 50 mums, dads, grannies and grandads came to enjoy maths and find out more about how it is taught in school these days.

Children and their parents from the nursery, Tiny Beginnings, joined in too. The morning was led by maths specialist and reception teacher, Fiona Wood who was delighted with the excitement and buzz in the school about maths.

Parents were equally as positive and told the staff how useful the morning had been, especially the creative ways of learning and teaching maths in Whitchurch and in particular the chance to have fun alongside their children.

One child said:?“Maths is fantastic and I have loved this morning.”

More mornings like this are planned for the near future.
