Pupils at St Weonards Primary School have recently been working with the Countryside Restoration Trust; a charity that owns two Herefordshire farms.

The purpose of the charity is to promote a working countryside with farming practices that encourages and protects wildlife, to produce quality food.

Alongside this aim, the charity employs Helen Jones as an Education Officer to provide free school visits across Herefordshire.

The visits provide sessions based around the science curriculum, predominantly linking to food, farming and countryside. St Weonards Primary School have recently had the pleasure of working with Helen, with KS1 visits based around the plants, seeds and soil.

In KS2 the visits have focused on animal diets, food chains and webs, and forces.

Jacky Barley, School Business Manager, told the Ross Gazette:?“We look forward to continuing to work with Helen again in the future.”
