A GROUP of Year 7 students from Bridstow Primary and Brampton Abbotts School met with their former headteacher, Dan Brearey, when he recently visited John Kyrle High School.
They told him how they missed primary school but also about how much they were enjoying life after their first month at secondary school. Some of the students described how they loved PE and playing on the all-weather surface. Others were especially excited about learning new languages such as German. Several students talked about the computer facilities at school and how much they liked doing IT lessons. One student mentioned how their favourite thing about JKHS was the food in the canteen, particularly the chicken!
Dan Brearey commented: “It was a pleasure to see both the Brampton Abbotts and Bridstow ex pupils at JKHS this morning. It was good to see how they’ve settled into JKHS and I wish them the very best luck as they start the next chapter in their education”.
Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths, recently wrote to all primary school headteachers in the area thanking them for how well they prepare students for secondary school life at JKHS.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
