Pupils at Bridstow Primary School enjoyed a special Christmas gift from Ross Garden Store – a seven foot Nordman Fir Christmas Tree complete with stand.
It is the second year that the school has received a tree as a gift from the Garden Store which has helped the school with a number of gardening projects over the last couple of years.
The children, who love being out in the school grounds, benefitted this year from the rejuvenation of their gardening area, which had fallen into a state of disrepair, through the generosity and expertise of the Ross Garden Store team.
Future plans which are already underway include the landscaping and re-planting of beds right next to the classrooms so that it is even easier for these gardeners and horticulturists of tomorrow to look after plants and flowers on a daily basis.
Head teacher, Dan Brearey said, “The children are never happier than when they are outside getting their hands in the soil. We plan to make the outdoor areas in our school even more accessible to our pupils in order to broaden and enhance the curriculum.”
