Dog attacks have seen several sheep killed in the local area in recent weeks.
Farmer, Philip Whitehouse has seen 11 sheep die in the last six months following scares from dogs off their lead.
The incidents occurred between the Hom and Walford, near Ross-on-Wye, with the sheep running into the water to get away and being unable to escape once their wool was waterlogged.
Philip told the Ross Gazette: “When something like this happens it is a lot of work and it has financial implications.”
Four sheep drowned in the most recent incident with two dogs chasing after the animals.
Philip added: “I can’t blame the dogs because it is just their nature.
“I just hope that owners will keep them on the lead to prevent things like this happening.”
The owner of the dogs has offered to pay compensation for the costs caused by the attack.
