Dear Editor,
Last week I was traveling on the road to Drybrook with a friend and, as we passed the turning into Hoovers Lane he asked me if I remembered the airplane crash that happened in the field to the right of the junction.
I replied that I was too young to remember the wartime (born 1942), he said it happened when he was about 11 or 12 so that would make it about 1957/58 and he thinks it was a four engine plane.
I have asked several people who live in that area and no one can remember anything about it. I am hoping that some of your readers (or even the Ross Gazette) can shed some light on the incident.
