The latest defibrillator to be provided by the charity, The Oddfellows, has been installed at Merton House Hotel in Ross-on-Wye. This is part of an on-going project to get this life saving equipment available in more places around the district.
Merton House welcomed the arrival, as their guests tend to be over 50, often with pre-existing medical conditions, so this defibrillator may one day save someone’s life.
Annie Morris, Deputy Manager of Merton House, said: “The Oddfellows providing this equipment is a big relief for the hotel as we can rest assured that should we need one, we have one onsite and don’t have to send staff into the town to obtain one if required, thus increasing the effectiveness of first aid.”
Alex Walker told the Ross Gazette:?“In 2017 we are looking to complete installation of two more publically accessible units, at John Kyrle High School and Tudorville and District Community Centre, with the help of local Town Councillor, Craig Morgan.”
North Gloucestershire District is looking to roll out more defibrillators and cabinets in the future. They would welcome enquiries from other organisations who would like information on how to help local communities in this way.
