Tributes have been paid to the well-known local farmer and auctioneer, Gwyn Williams who died on Monday, December 17th.

RG and RB Williams, the long established firm of Chartered Surveyors and Land Agents based in Ross-on-Wye, run by Gwyn and his son, Richard announced the death through their website and on their Facebook page.

They said: "It is with great sadness that we report that RG (Gwyn) Williams passed away on Monday, December 17th after a long but bravely fought illness. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Ross Market was his life and it wouldn’t be in existence without his sterling efforts. Funeral details will be announced in due course."

Long time friend Bob Purvis told the Ross Gazette: "He was a lovely man who will be sorely missed."
