WEST Mercia Police are appealing for the help of the public after counterfeit money was used in the Ross-on-Wye area last week.
On Wednesday, October 23, a group of people paid for sweets and drinks using Scottish £20 notes which it later transpired were counterfeit at the Bennetts of Ross BP garage in Wilton.
Ross-based officers are keen to speak to the two men pictured as they believe they may be able to help with their enquiries into this incident.
The police advise retailers that these notes will show up fine under UV light.
However the police suggest that if small value purchases are being made with a £20 note to maximise profit in the change, they should become suspicious and check to see if the security numbers are the same. If there is any doubt they should refuse the currency and report it.
