Scout groups from Ross-on-Wye, Walford and Whitchurch & Llangrove celebrated St George on Sunday, April 22nd with a parade and special service. St George is not only the Patron Saint of England but also of Scouting, as chosen by Baden-Powell.

Ross District started their event with a parade from The Prospect with all the district standards being led by St George’s standard and the Hereford & Worcester county standard. Ross Scout Group were the hosts of this year’s event and during the service at St. Mary’s Ross Mohawk Cubs displayed their St George’s Day Parade posters. This was part of their Artist and Our World challenge badges. Presentations were also made together with all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and leaders renewing their promises. Afterwards the whole event finished with refreshments at Ross Scout & Guide HQ, (next to Ross Swimming Pool).
