The 12th edition of the CC Topp John Henderson Memorial 10 mile time trial took place last Saturday afternoon. John was a founder member of CC Topp who sadly died after a serious crash in the Isle of Man TT in 1998.
On arrival at Raglan race organiser Terry Harradine discovered that the local council had decided to resurface a 4 mile section of the course to be used, making racing difficult and dangerous. Some phone calls were made to South Wales police and an alternative course was used
The event was underway after a 45 min. delay. Fastest time of the day, 21 min 03 sec, went to Paul Smith of PCA Ciclos Uno who travelled all the way from Southend on Sea. Second place went to Simon Harradine of CC Topp, (John Lawrence Ltd), who is in a comeback season after a five year layoff, his time was 21.58.
