The third English Bicknor Jigsaw Bonanza will take place on October 28th at the Village Hall. This is a fund raising event, with funds split between Great Oaks Hospice and English Bicknor Village Hall. Last year almost £800 was raised from the sale of over 300 jigsaws – and this year there should be even more jigsaws on offer at bargain prices.
Organising the Jigsaw Bonanza are Joan Maxfield, who is in her 80s, and her daughter, Sarah. The event has been sponsored by Gibsons; the well-known jigsaw manufacturers.
Joan and Sarah have a band of helpers who have been busy doing jigsaws for the last month so that many puzzles can be displayed already completed - so there’s certainty of no missing pieces.
There will be a Children’s Corner, Royal Family puzzles, 3D puzzles, puzzling puzzles and Christmas themed puzzles as well as the usual scenic views and lots more for the jigsaw enthusiast to choose from. Visitors can enjoy tea and cakes whilst having a go at a ‘Jigsaw in Progress’, and ploughman’s lunches will also be available.
The Jigsaw Bonanza is on Saturday, October 28th between 10am and 4pm.
