The historic Goytre Hall near Abergavenny has been sold, prompting the clearance of virtually all of its contents to be sold at auction.

The rural property was the former home of The Right Honourable Lord Peter Wynford Innes Rees QC, who had a distinguished career as a soldier and politician, including serving as MP for Dover and holding various positions in the Treasury.

The sale of the items from the family home, where many well-known personalities have visited, presents a unique opportunity for buyers to own a piece of the family's history and travels.

Despite hopes for an "On the Premises Auction," the decision was made to move the items to a saleroom due to time, space, and weather constraints. The sale marks the end of an era and the passing of Lord Rees in 2008.
