The 1st Bridstow Brownies would like to say a huge thank you to Jill and the Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew for helping them organise a litter pick on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018.
The Brownies are working on their Brownie Environment badge and Girlguiding Conservation challenge this term.
Brown Owl, Claire Lines, said: “The girls were all really enthusiastic with what they were doing and were proud to be helping to tidy up our community.
“We also found more on our litter pick than we bargained for - the Brownies spotted a beautiful budgie hopping around in the grass.
“One of our Brownies, Kenzie, picked the budgie up and carried it to the Rowing Club where members of Ross Lions helped us to pop it carefully into a box for safe keeping. The members of Ross Lions then took the budgie to Vine Tree Vets for us. We believe that the budgie has now been reunited with its owner.
“Kenzie will be awarded a special Brownie ‘Well Done’ badge and certificate for carrying out such an amazing Brownie Good Turn.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now
