Throughout November, Brockhampton Court Nursing Home, near Ross-on-Wye, will be paying tribute to the millions that gave their lives during the dreadful darkness of World War 1.

Residents and staff have been working hard to create the hundreds of poppies that are on their ‘Veil of Remembrance’.

They have organised activities and events throughout the year to celebrate the Armed Forces and to remember the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us all.

This Remembrance Sunday is particularly poignant for some of the residents as they had family who served and were lost in the First World War.

On Sunday, November 11th the residents of this Herefordshire Nursing Home took part in the national tribute to the fallen and lit a beacon in the grounds of Brockhampton to symbolise the ‘light of hope that emerged from the darkness of war’.
