17 members of 1st Bridstow Brownies joined nearly 200 members of Girlguiding Midlands for a sleepover at the West Midlands Safari Park last weekend.
The Brownies arrived at the Safari Park at 5.30pm on the Saturday afternoon and were made to feel very welcome before being able to explore the park, prior to having their evening meal at Treetops Pavilion, their base for the weekend.
Once everyone had eaten, the girls had a little free time before getting ready for a disco which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Then the Brownies and Leaders set up their sleeping bags in designated areas ready for the night. Before settling down to sleep they watched a DVD and had hot chocolate to drink.
On Sunday morning everyone had a delicious breakfast of bacon sandwiches, yoghurt, cereal bar and juice. Sleeping bags were rolled back up put away before everyone got ready for the Animal Encounter where they met Sebastian the Ferret and Gladys the Chinchilla.
Bridstow Brownies then went on their Safari Tour which was fantastic. The giraffes, elephants and white lions seemed to be favourite!
Once back at the Pavilion the girls had lunch before going into the Park. They watched the Sea Lion show and then went on numerous rides. Everyone had so much fun. They stayed in the Park until about 4pm before visiting the gift shop and then got ready to go home.
Brown Owl, Claire Lines, said: “We would like to thank our Brownies for making the Leaders feel so very proud of them and we say a huge thank you to Eagle Owl, Barn Owl and our three amazing Young Leaders for joining us and making this event possible.
“We would also like to thank Girlguiding Midlands for organising such a fun filled, unique experience for us.”
