MADAM, I thought your readers should hear about our fleeting experience on Thursday early afternoon. We were gardening and heard strange noises from the other side of our hedge. There was a lot of grunting and sniffling noises and they moved slowly along the edge of our property. I bring this to you attention as our property borders the fields below Chase Woods.

The field is also bordered by the Cycle Track to the rear of Merrivale. We know that the Wild Boar are in Chase Woods and have been sighted on several occasions but they have not ventured this far down, to our knowledge, before. The cycle track is used by many small children and dog walkers and I felt it wise to alert everyone to the fact that the boars are getting nearer because they can be VERY dangerous and vicious if surprised or cornered.
