Throughout August, Macmillan Cancer Support are appealing for volunteers to show their support for those battling with cancer, by shaving their heads.
In addition to raising money for the charity, by getting sponsored to do the shave, Macmillan aims to raise awareness of how cancer patients experience changes to their appearance
Emma Garvey, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for Herefordshire and The Forest of Dean, told the Ross Gazette:?“Many people facing cancer experience changes to their appearance and hair loss. Their emotional identity and confidence changes too as cancer affects how they feel about themselves and possibly how other people react to them too.
On Saturday, August 1st, a local team, compromising of Kim Parker, Gina Marchetto, Romerleigh Parker, and Isobella Marchetto, were among the first to get a drastic haircut.
Kim and Gina opted for the full head shave, while the younger members of the team, Romerleigh and Isobella had their long hair cut, to send to the Little Princess Trust.
