ROSSITER Books and The Friends of St Mary’s Ross on Wye are hosting an evening entitled Wild Service - Why Nature Needs You.

Wild Service is a visionary concept crafted by the pioneers of the Right to Roam campaign, which argues that humanity’s loss and nature’s need are two sides of the same story.

The event on Wednesday September 4 features writer and Right to Roam campaigner Jon Moses, Nicola Cutcher - co-founder and trustee of the Friends of the Wye and Paul Powlesland - founder of Lawyers for Nature, and author of the Wild Service chapter on Guardianship.

The event will be presented by Chantal Lyons, author of Groundbreakers – The Return of Britain’s Wild Boar

In May 2022, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences released a paper that measured 14 European countries on three factors: biodiversity, wellbeing, and nature connectedness.

Britain came last in every single category. The findings are clear. We are suffering, and nature is too.

Blending science, nature writing and indigenous philosophy this ground-breaking book Wild Service - Why Nature Needs You calls for mass reconnection to the land and a commitment to its restoration.

Doors Open at 6.30pm and starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £8 from Rossiter Books in store or via Ticketsource £3 of the ticket price is redeemable against the book at the event.
