After a very tough year Melvin and Marilyn Teague decided to set themselves a challenge, to walk to the top of Mount Snowdon.
They turned it into a sponsored walk for the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton, which Marilyn has visited and knows a great deal about.
They completed their walk on Wednesday, May 17th. Marilyn told the Gazette that it was a challenge as Melvin is 71 and she is 70. They are reasonably fit, enjoy walking the dog and walk to town most days.
They lost their son 18 months ago and are very grateful for all the support and wonderful care they had for him at home, which is why they wanted to help the charity.
They started out at 7am and got to the top at 11.30am, they returned on the train, and when they reached the bottom they were presented with certificates confirming their achivement.
Marilyn told the Ross Gazette that they have already raised over £1,800 and are very grateful for the generousity of everyone who supported them.
