MADAM, I would like to thank the Ross Jubilee Committee and Ross Lions Club most sincerely for inviting my wife, Angela, and myself to perform the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon at the Prospect on Monday June 4th.

I felt both excited and very honoured to be taking part in such a memorable event. I would also like to congratulate everyone involved in organising such a fantastic evening which included the spectacular firework display.

It's been quite a weekend for myself. It was my 60th birthday on Saturday June 2nd and it was also the day I married my wonderful wife, Angela. We did lots of celebrating at Forest Hills Golf Club which is where our wedding took place on Saturday. Then we were fortunate enough to be involved in the brilliant celebrations to commemorate 60 years of Queen Elizabeth's reign here in Ross.
