The Ross-on-Wye Sports Centre has suffered criminal damage, burglary and anti-social crime in recent weeks, so local police officers are doing regular patrols there to deter that sort of behaviour.

The most recent incident took place on Sunday, April 23rd; a locker was broken into, although it does not appear that anything has been stolen. The crime reference number for this is 190-S-230417.

On April 18th, graffiti was sprayed onto a wall and a door (incident reference: 192-S-180417).

In another incident, on April 13th, damage to the building was caused after youths climbed on to the roof (incident reference: 333-S-130417).

The police received reports of boy racers at the Sports Centre on April 11th, (incident reference: 620-S-1140417) and reports of boy racers doing ‘doughnuts’ - riding around in tight circles in a car, resulting in circular tire-marks on the car park surface, on March 7th. During this incident, posts were ripped up on the sports pitches (incident reference: 526-S-070317).

The police’s business crime co-ordinator is meeting with the care taker at the Sports Centre tomorrow (Tuesday, April 25th) to look a their current security measures and offer advice on options what may be improved in this regard.
