An off-duty policeman heard cries for help, as he was jogging near to the Biblins suspension bridge on Tuesday evening (August 22nd).
At approximately 7pm, in one of the most remote areas of Symonds Yat, the West Mercia Police Sergeant could hear a man shouting from the opposite side of the River Wye.
He went to investigate, and discovered that a man had fallen off his bike. The injured man had been cycling by himself, and was unable to move.
The emergency services were called at 7.34pm, by another man who heard the cries coming from the opposite side of the river. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response team attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance service told the Ross Gazette: “We treated a man for a back injury and injuries to his face.
“The Trust’s 6x6 specialist off-road vehicle was used to take the man back to the ambulance before he was then transported to Hereford Hospital.”
