One lane of the A40 had to be closed by police this morning, Wednesday, August 9th after a lorry caught fire.
Two crews, from Ross-on-Wye and Whitchurch attended the incident at pencraig at about 9am. The fire was extinguished with water and compressed air foam hose reels and the crew used BA.
The fire spread to the cab and onto the hi-ab crane but it was stopped with CAFS foam before spreading to the rear. There was extensive damage to the cab.
Whitchurch Fire Service tweeted pictures of the burnt out vehicle.
West Mercia Police attended to close one lane of the A40 but the road was reopened later that morning.
