Witnesses described smoke billowing out of the window.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the cause of the fire was an electric blanket.

More updates to follow.[UPDATE] The emergency services were called at 11.27am. Two fire crews from Ross-on-Wye and one from Whitchurch attended the incident. The fire area was approximately 20m x 30m, and it was in the bedroom of a second floor flat, of a three storey building. The firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, two sets of breathing apparatus, and one covering jet. The property was ventilated, and a gas monitor was used. A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Ross Gazette that two ambulances and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene. There were two patients, both elderly, who were treated for minor smoke inhalation and discharged on scene.
